About Circuitry
We write about consumer technology for people who want a decision, not a spec sheet.
What this site is
Circuitry publishes two kinds of article: reviews of individual products, and guides that explain a category or a rule well enough that you can make your own call without us. Both exist because most tech coverage answers the wrong question. It tells you what a device has. It rarely tells you whether the difference is one you will notice.
We are independent. Circuitry is not owned by a retailer, a manufacturer, or a media group, and no company has ever paid for coverage here — not for a review, not for a mention, not for a placement in a list.
Who writes it
Articles are published under the byline Circuitry, our small editorial team. We chose a collective byline rather than invented personas because we would rather be accountable as a publication than borrow authority from a name.
If you want to challenge something we published, the contact page reaches the people who wrote it.
How we reach a conclusion
Different articles are built differently, and we say which is which at the top of every page:

We do not publish a score unless we have handled the product. Where a guide relies on a rule, a law or a manufacturer's own specification, we link to the source rather than asking you to take our word for it.
What we will not do
- Publish sponsored content dressed as editorial.
- Recommend a product we have not used in a piece labelled as a review.
- Let an affiliate relationship change a conclusion, a ranking, or a score.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix the article, add a dated correction note at the bottom of it, and leave the original wording visible in that note. We do not quietly edit and move on. If you spot an error, tell us — corrections sent by readers are the fastest ones we make.
How we make money
Two ways, both disclosed:
- Advertising. Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense. We do not choose the individual advertisers, and advertisers have no say in what we publish. Details of the data involved are in our privacy policy.
- Affiliate links. Some articles link to retailers, and a purchase may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Any article containing affiliate links says so at the top.
Neither of these changes what we conclude. The reason we say so in this much detail is that it is the only part of a site like this that a reader cannot verify for themselves.
